When it comes to travelling, you always want to be prepared. It’s not just about packing your bags and getting ready for your journey; there are many other things that you should think about before leaving the country. This is a Packing list for students going to Germany. Hope this will be useful for you
You will need everything from toiletries and clothes to books and stationary. The following are some of the things that every Indian student traveling to Germany should carry with them:
Table of Contents
Suitcase & Bags
Always go for good quality case since in Airport they might be handling our luggage harshly. You can try this one which I had bought
Kitchen Utensils & Food Supplies
Pressure Cooker
Although it might be available to buy, it will not be the same as what we buy in India, and it will be more expensive. If possible a large capacity although I bought a 3 litter one similar to the image on the side
Rice Cooker
I regretted not buying a rice cooker before I arrived, so I had to purchase one later and ask my friend to bring it when he came. I highly recommend getting one, as it really saves a lot of time and effort.
Mini Chopper
Having this here was really helpful for me. It is so convenient to use and clean. I would recommend buying this one with 900 ml capacity
Chapati Maker
I would recommended you to buy this in order to reduce weight while packing
Puttu Maker
This is a must-have for any Malayali. I would recommend buying a Chiratta Putt maker just to save space and weight
Sauce Pan
A high-quality saucepan is essential for preparing tea, coffee, and even dishes like Maggi. In Germany, people often use hot plates and induction cooktops instead of gas stoves. It’s advisable to choose a saucepan with a thick base that is also induction-compatible for better performance and durability.
Knife Set
Try to bring in a good quality Knife and do remember to keep it inside the Check-in bag
Chopping Board
Although it is not too expensive here in Germany try bringing one while you come and always try to bring a wooden one so that you don’t add microplastics in your food
Reusable Plastic bags
It could be useful for storing food, but only purchase it if you believe you’ll actually need it.

Flask
Try to bring in Flask while you come, especially during winter
Storage Containers
Try bringing some containers that would help you to store food
Spoon & Ladle Set
Without these all the utensils would become obsolete so try bring these as well. I would prefer these metal once rather than wooden once because this last longer
Plates and Bowl
This is an important thing, but most people would pack last. Remember to buy a personal plate and bowl a spoon and a fork. PS- always put fork and knife in check-in bag

Smart Phone
Buying new phones from Germany may actually be beneficial, as we will be receiving a slightly lower price for flagship phones such as the Google Pixel 7 and Apple iPhone. However, there is almost no difference in price between Germany and India.
Ear Phone
It ultimately depends on your personal preference. However, I included the earphones on the list to make packing easier for you.
Travel Adapter Plug
This is a must if you are planning to bring chargers and power cables from India. And do buy these plugs because its design suits almost all the plugs in Germany. I had tried some other brands but this work well.
Electric Kettle
When you are planning to come to Germany especially during the winter remember to buy one of these Kettle, You would definitely need this here
Extension Power cord
Well we don’t know whether the power outlet provided by our house owners would be enough or not. It was so helpful for me and I would like to recommend you the same. Please bring a power extension cord you come here

Epilator
Its quite expensive to buy one from here so its better to buy from India if you plan to use it here
